Novel Explore Course – Best Friends Playbook

Our online courses for students are divided into two levels of instruction: Literature Explore, and Literature Analysis. This course is the Book-Club-Type course, spanning up to a month of study.

This individual online course was created by certified teachers to provide your students with a fun new way to explore the lower middle grade contemporary Best Friends Playbook by A.W. Downer. It includes weekly reading interviews, ‘paper and pencil’ assignments, and an enrichment project. Videos and downloadable PDFs keep the momentum going, and student choice keeps the kids engaged. Guided by instructor Kiri Jorgensen, students in 4th – 6th grade will engage through video, online work, and ‘paper and pencil’ assignments to practice a fun exploration of the middle grade contemporary friendship story Best Friends Playbook by A.W. Downer. This course is divided into 4 sections of study.

  • Three sections include:
    • Guided Interviews about elements of the book
    • A gradual analysis of how the main character is changing
  • The last section includes:
    • Enrichment project of the student’s choice
    • Final Fun With the Author

9 instructional videos are part of this course, including 2 from the AUTHOR, A.W. Downer. Also included are 3 Downloadable PDF instructions and worksheets for in-person assignments.
