Virtue Focus: Trusting Yourself

When a child develops the virtue of trusting themselves, they will learn to overcome a huge variety of obstacles in their path. When kids trust themselves, their decision making ability is much stronger.

Tips for training your child to develop trust in themselves:

  • By praising the effort kids put into a task, parents can reinforce the progress they are making. 
  • Build an obstacle course in your house, and encourage your child to figure out how to overcome each one. As they succeed, discuss how they did it. 
  • Read a book together that portrays the main character developing trust in themselves, like this book:
