Virtue Focus: Loyalty

When a child develops the virtue of loyalty, they recognize the virtues they personally align with and commit to those people or ideas. Having loyalty is an important virtue to future happiness. 

Tips for training your child to develop loyalty:

  • When kids are choosing between two options, discuss what values are aligned with each, then let them choose.
  • Look for opportunities to point out object that represent values you align yourself to with loyalty, like a flag, or a religious symbol.
  • Read a book together that portrays the main character developing loyalty, like this book:
