Virtue Focus: Patience
When a child develops the virtue of patience, they begin to notice the situations and people around them through a new lens. Patience is a virtue that leads to serenity and perseverance later in life.
Tips for training your child to develop Patience:
- Teach breathing strategies to use when anxiety is high. Encourage them to practice when needed, and then reflect on how they can choose patience in that moment.
- Let your kids see you waiting with a positive attitude, whether in the grocery line or awaiting word on a big project. Show that waiting happens to everyone, and we might as well use that wait time in positive ways.
