Halfwing Siobhan Eirwensa is struggling to reconcile the past with her newfound loyalties. When she learns her father is fighting for his life as a captive of the Arena, she is determined to rescue him. But she has much to learn about trust.

As Asher and Siobhan work toward solutions, they uncover Ryn’s newest plan—one that will lead to full-blown civil war if he isn’t stopped. They’re running out of time.

I believe an important thing when it comes to reading is a good book. Clanless, book 2 in the Wingless cycle, fits into that category. With morals like acceptance, forgiveness and trust, Clanless made an amazing and unexpected sequel. One of my most treasured books, and the thrill of surprise of the jump to two point-of-view characters gave a deeper dive into the story’s world with twice as much excitement.
    I recommend this book!

In this sequel Catherine Witzaney has written a another great fantasy picking right up where Wingless left off. Clanless starts off with Asher still in the Bat Colony determined to make things better. But he is dealing heavy guilt from his part in poisoning the Bat Colony water supply, even though he was forced to act in order to save his sister and friend.
The story follows the continuing struggle and discrimination between the Pures and the Halfwings. Asher and Siobhan join with a secret group of Pures who wish to have fair treatment of all sprites in the Bat Colony. Tensions are rising and tremors begin shaking the entire cavern city with increasing destruction.
There’s a satisfying resolution that brings forgiveness, redemption, caring, reuniting, friendship, and true courage all into play.

Bats, bees, hornets, dragonflies, butterflies – all manner of winged creatures inhabit the Wingless Cycle. In addition, they all have special Talents, from Healing to Speed to Mind Reading to Teleportation and a ton of things in between. Readers who enjoy fantasy will be amazed by the world Catherine Witzaney has created even as they empathize with the main character, Asher who is wingless.
But the world is far from an idyllic one. Prejudices and acts of aggression between the Bats and the Clanless are escalating toward a civil war and Asher is right in the middle of it,
Keenly aware of how his earlier actions inadvertently contributed to the division, Asher desperately works to promote peace among the various factions. At the same time he is trying to learn how to forgive himself.
